This mini-album began as a simple language experiment, taking a single sentence, breaking it up into its constituent parts, and exploring each of those in zoomed-in detail.
Each song is a reaction to the word in question, its sound, its rhythm, its connotation.
Limited time allowed for no second guessing; first and second takes only.
The sentence itself, which was spoken to me by a cat in a dream, evades concrete definition.
Long toes mean a foot can act as a hand.
Things shift and morph and change the more you look at them.
Truth can be slippery, like a fresh-caught fish.
Investigating the nature of meaning through the lens of the meaningless.
Using one dream as a springboard to create another.
A gut punch from the unconscious mind.
No escape from the absurd!

Recorded by Thom Lucero over the course of one week in February 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Tools were minimal: a Casio SK1, an old version of Garageband, and various phone apps.
Voice samples on “a foot” and “a hand” by Madelyn Byrd.
